Comprehensive Evaluations
Schultz Speech Therapy offers thorough assessments of your child's speech, language, and executive functioning skills. Our comprehensive evaluation will look at all areas of concern, providing a detailed analysis of your child's strengths and areas for growth.

Following the evaluation, we will review the results and provide our recommendations. If therapy is recommended, we will create a therapy plan to help your child achieve their goals.
DIRFloortime®-TAILORED EVALUATIONS
For families who value a neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based approach, we provide evaluations aligned with the DIRFloortime® framework. These assessments focus on social-emotional development, communication, and individual differences.

late talkers & language delays
LATE TALKERS • SPEECH & LANGUAGE DELAYS • EARLY INTERVENTION • EARLY COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At Schultz Speech Therapy, we take a play-based approach to therapy for our youngest clients. Research shows that young children learn best when they are engaged, having fun, and doing what they do best...play!

Speech therapy for late talkers will engage both parent and child through books, songs, toys, interactive games like hide and seek, movement, and sensory play activities (e.g., sensory bins, water play, play dough).

Therapy for language delays will help your child develop skills such as:

-
Improved receptive communication skills (e.g., ability to answer questions and follow directions)

-
Ability to communicate wants, needs, and thoughts

Parents will also be guided in how to support their child at home to:

-
Encourage more communication

-
Reduce frustration

-
Engage in activities that support language development

gestalt language processors
GESTALT LANGUAGE PROCESSORS • DELAYED ECHOLALIA
Nicole Schultz is a trained NLA (Natural Language Acquisition) clinician specializing in working with children who script (delayed echolalia). Using the NLA framework, therapy always honors the child's unique way of communicating. We also support and encourage multimodal communication and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Speech therapy for gestalt language processors will build the skills for self-generated language through activities based on your child's interests.

Therapy for children who are gestalt language processors begins by accepting and validating your child's unique gifts and personality.
Using the NLA framework, we will focus on:

-
Breaking apart scripts/gestalts in order to move towards an increase in self-generated language

-
Helping your child find their own words rather than relying on scripts or taught language

-
Giving parents and caregivers an understanding of NLA and how to best support their child's communication development

executive function difficulties
Executive function therapy will help your child build and strengthen skills that will lead to positive changes academically and socially.

Therapy is delivered using neurodiversity-affirming approaches, focusing on strengthening skills as well as parent and child education.

We will begin by identifying your child's primary challenges. Then, using structured activities, various tools, parent coaching, and home practice programs, we will work on skills such as attention, organization, memory, starting and completing tasks, self-correction, time management, and more.

Orton-Gillingham
DYSLEXIA • READING DIFFICULTIES
Schultz Speech Therapy provides Orton-Gillingham-based services to help children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is a structured, multisensory method that breaks language learning into smaller, manageable steps. This evidence-based technique focuses on phonics, reading, writing, and spelling, using strategies that engage multiple senses to reinforce learning.
Each session is customized to your child’s individual needs, helping them build strong literacy skills while developing confidence and finding joy in reading. Our goal is to help your child become a capable and enthusiastic reader.
